Vaculift Pipelifter Setup Checklist

Is each of your Vacuworx® pipelifters ready to go to work? Here are a few reminders to earn a "yes" answer:

A. Examine the following:

  • All load carrying portions of the machine for deformation, cracks, or wear.
  • The vacuum pump for output.
  • The vacuum pad seal for cuts, tears wear and presence of foreign particles.
  • Vacuum lines and connections for leaks, cuts, kinks, and collapsed hoses.
  • The vacuum tank for leaks or damage.
  • The entire vacuum system, by putting suction on a pipe, then stopping the pump. The vacuum should not decrease more than 10% in four minutes.
  • The rotator assembly for deformation, cracks, wear or leakage.
  • The supporting structure and auxiliary components for damage.
  • The engine, pump and controls for damage.
  • The warning labels for damage.

B. Perform recommended maintenance:

  • Change the engine oil. Use 0.85 U.S. quarts (.8 liter) of SAE 20W40 oil.
  • Wash the mesh screen in the engine oil filter with diesel fuel.
  • Change the vacuum pump oil. R500 vacuum oil is specified, but SAE 10W40 engine oil will work.
  • Change the engine air filter. Be sure the lid has a properly fitted gasket to prevent vacuum leaks.
  • Change the fuel filter.
  • Drain the fuel-water separator trap.
  • Check for loose belts, nuts, and pins. The M20 bolts that hold the tank and rotator together should be check and re-torqued to 435 foot/pounds.

C. Repair the rubber seal, as needed, on all pads.
